I’m writing this at 41 weeks, 6 days pregnant. Today, I luckily managed to have a very sweet quiet time with God this morning….maybe one of my last for awhile! My husband had taken my son to school, and my daughter and mom were still asleep. As precious as sleep is for me these days, I was rewarded for getting up early with a great time with God.
I read my devotional, but still didn’t feel moved. I really wanted a moment – an encounter – with my Father! So I pondered what worship song I could put on….and as I was thinking where I am right now in my life, I realized I really just had to surrender to God and His divine timing – for this baby and his birth, and everything else in our lives. (Like a “new to us” minivan that we really need!) So of course, I realized “I Surrender” by Hillsong Worship was the perfect song. I put it on and immediately felt the presence of the Holy Spirit, and a calming in my soul. It’s exactly what I needed to hear this morning. And so this is my new anthem until the baby arrives….both while I wait, and also during his labor & birth!
What about you? Is there anything going on your life that you realize you just need to surrender through, and wait on God? Songs like this really help with perspective, and are such a great reminder that God’s timing and plans are always perfect, no matter how it appears from our side of things.
